Love the look

Color, color, color. I'll take some brights and warm, sunny weather please! I'm adoring all the colorful hues around the fashion world this winter, spring! Hopefully I'll be able to wear some of them soon. Today I'm wearing black leggings, a sweater and Hunter wellies! It's 39 degrees in Boston! Yikes!

Designing Duo

I came across the creative home collaboration of couple Cinda and Mark Boomershine this week. Their space is unexpected, colorful and fun.  Cinda also designs and owns an amazing hand-bag, travel tote and accessories line aptly named: Cinda B. I pictured a few of my favorite pieces below. Shelter Loves..

My poor little blog hasn't received much love this week. I've been out straight. I had a photo shoot for a publication on Monday, followed by a quick trip to Chicago for a video Tuesday. I'm back in town, and am sharing what's on my mind this week.....

1.+ 2. I was sad to read about the passing of Lilly Pulitzer this past Sunday. The princess of prints + prep, was 81. I own just one happy, iconic "Lilly" shift dress. I may need to buy another for my collection or better yet track down a vintage one. The little girl versions are
sweet too. Dress link.
3. + 4. I wore a chunky necklace and a tweed blazer for both my video and photo shoot. They are perfect wardrobe staples. Flattering and functional, I wear both over and over again. I am obsessed with this necklace. It's been on my wish list for about six months! My friend wore hers when we went to the ballet the other night, it looked stunning.
5. I gravitate toward fresh, clean spaces this time of year. In a perfect world I wouldn't expose my television but sometimes it's the best option for the room.

Shelter Loves

I had the opportunity to see Boston Ballet's Sleeping Beauty last night. It was a gorgeous performance. The ballerinas never cease to amaze me with their courus (ballet term), plies and pointe techniques. There is an entire glossary of ballet words and definitions, read more here. I'll have to admit, I can't wait to sign my daughter up. She wears tutus over her leggings all the time as it is!

Love the Look

I've decided to share another casual fashion post this week. I guess you know where my head is. I'll go with something frilly + springy next week, promise. I'm looking forward to wearing my colorful frocks and printed spring/summer pieces, but it feels more like February here lately. I also just realized most of my spring clothing is in storage; sounds like just as good an excuse as any to go shopping for some new attire! I also booked a trip last week for the Nantucket Wine Festival in May. I'll surely need a new wine tasting outfit.
I was inspired by the above photo but decided to tweak the look slightly. I don't really wear ripped jeans. I have one vintage pair and might throw them on once a year, if that. Wow, do I sound old? I do, however, like the look of washed out jeans, so I shared a J.Crew version instead.
Happy Wednesday! It's been a bit of a rough week. I'll be happy when cocktail hour rolls around. Cheers!

If you haven't had the opportunity to peruse Adore Home's April/May issue, I'd recommend you do! It's filled with fashionably inspired homes, closets and fashionistas. Angela Perikic's, owner of Glamourpuss Boutique in Australia, home especially caught my eye. She and her designer Greg Natale, pulled out all the stops on this glamour laden goodie!

The subtle layering of color, texture and pattern are pure perfection in this pic!

Cottage Love #9

Not much makes this girl happier than the warm weather!! After a loooooong winter, it's finally getting nice in Boston. Beach cottage season is on the way and though I don't own a summer home, I thoroughly enjoy the benefits of living in a town on the water. 
I was reading Coastal Living over the weekend and came across the beautiful Amagansett, N.Y. cottage of Christiane Lemieux. She and her husband run  DwellStudio, the popular textile and furniture company.  I adore the ease and simplicity of this sweet home. When you live on the water, fussiness just doesn't make sense!

Pretty Palms

I love how the spring weather brings not just warmer temps, but ushers in pretty prints and cheery colors! I'm due for a little spring shopping, and again, my philosophy on that is: choose wisely, buy less. I want to add a couple prints to my closet. This Palm print dress from Tuckernuck, would be perfect. Here's a bit more palm inspired prettiness! Have a wonderful holiday weekend! Happy Easter and spring!

Love the look

I can feel myself shifting into Spring mode. The days are longer and the air feels (dare I say) warmer. I had a conversation last night with a friend about lifestyle and dressing, it was the impetus for today's post.  I love to get dressed up in my little bootie heels and cute tops when I venture out at night but on a day to day basis a more casual look makes so much more sense for me. I'm usually shlepping paint samples, pouring through fabrics at the design center or running around with my kiddies. I like to look fashionable, yes, but comfort and a bit of practicality are key for me! So my secret is out! I'd rather dress down then up in the morning! The above look definitely suits my mood today = Casual!

Happenings...

Hello loves! I hope your week is off to a great start. I've been running around...it's not a bad thing to be busy. I wanted to share some happenings 'round here. First up, are design boards I recently finished for a bed-room revamp. I've devised a classic, bohemian mix with shots of color. We're going to attempt to paint a lamp a la Bunny Williams style. The color above is a bit off. I'll most likely match the Tulu textile print.
I'll be sure to share the final photos of this project with you in a couple of months.  We're working on this project with a budget but isn't that how most of us live? I know I do! (but of course dream as though I don't).

Here's a peek at another project. I was very happy with the hex-tile!!

Finally, I snuck in some great vintage shopping yesterday with my assistant. I scored this heavy, gold plated necklace for $8 along with some other amazing finds for one of my clients!

Shelter Loves...

I awoke to a sunny day and beautifully white coated trees. We received about five inches of snow last night. I'm not going to complain about our extended winter here in Boston but what I'd really love to see is springy pastels, and daffodil flowers. I'm ready to wear my girlie treasures and may be adding that adorable feminine blouse and floral cuff to my "wish list". Happy Spring + weekend!

Love the Look - Spring wish list

Fashionably speaking this week, I'm inspired more by a fashion icon then one look! Giovanna Battaglia is hands down one of my top three fashionable faves. I'm always curious to see what she'll pull together. I've been dreaming about my spring clothing wish list, (I'm so over this winter) Here are some staples that made the cut (I need both a new everyday clutch and a wallet, hence the redundancy there)! I'm a firm believer in saving for what you love. I think the quote below sums that up perfectly. Who are some of your favorite stylish ladies (or gents)?  p.s. These pieces aren't all meant to be worn together...although most do mix well!
